Former Editor, Farmers Weekly and Associate Publisher for the Farmers Weekly Group.
With over 30 years in the Industry. Stephen Howe was educated in Redhill and Bridgewater, then attended Seale-Hayne Agricultural College during the late sixties where he attained National Diplomas in Agriculture and Farm Management
Shephen started his career as a lecturer in Crop Husbandry and was Farm Manager of the Lackham College of Agriculture in Wiltshire. In 1972 became a Technical reporter on both Farmers Weekly and Power Farming. 1982 was appointed editor of Power Farming. 1985 became Managing Editor of Power Farming and Agricultural Machinery Journal.
1987 - Editor of Crops magazine during which time magazine won the prestigious Business Magazine of the Year Award.
For 13 years he was the editor of Farmers Weekly and Associate Publisher for Farmers Weekly Group until 2005.
Honours include Associate of the Royal Agricultural Societies in recognition of services to UK farming and agricultural publishing and Honorary Doctorate University of Plymouth, Faculty of Land, Food and leisure in recognition of achievements in the agricultural industry.
Member of the governing body of the Institute of Grassland and Environmental Research – dedicated to stimulating top quality research in the field of grass production.
Board of management of the Young Farmers Movement of England and Wales. And President of Eurofarm – an organisation representing all the leading paid-for agricultural magazine in continental Europe.
